Approval of JWC Minutes
MOVED by Norris, seconded by
Burt and motion carried to approve the minutes of the December 6, 2006
meeting.
Joint Task Force Update (Meeting Dates)
Scott Harder said the City
of Minneapolis has been unable to find a January date on which everyone
could attend. They had suggested February 21, but Mr. Harder is
unavailable on that date so they will look further. Minneapolis is
hosting the next meeting. Mr. Harder said he had spoken with Minneapolis
representatives who said that they will be talking about
interconnections.
Water Supply Plan Update
Mr. Harder said he is
working on the final formatting for the Plan and it should be completed
in time for the joint meeting of the Golden Valley Environmental
Commission and the Planning Commission on January 22. It will more than
likely be labeled a “Draft” but will probably be what is finally sent
out. He said the TAC should meet and look at the Plan before the final
copy is sent out.
Hydraulic Model Training Report and
Feedback
Bert Tracy reported that
this training was very useful but said that once the program is
installed, he thinks a refresher session with the instructor might be in
order so the operators can ask more questions once they’ve had a chance
to use it. He said they did request that the instructor compile a “cheat
sheet” for them and he agreed.

Other
Unexpected Bill
Sue Virnig said a bill had been received from MnDOT in the amount of
$891,000 with $300,000 attributed to the JWC. It is related to Phase I
of the Highway 100 reconstruction. That figure was verified by Golden
Valley’s Engineering Department and Jeannine Clancy told her that we
would need to pay the bill, so that was done in December. This will be
split among the three cities with Golden Valley paying 40% and Crystal
and New Hope both paying 30%.
Award
The Minneapolis Citizens’
Advisory Committee continues to meet. At their September 13, 2006
meeting, it was announced that Minneapolis had won the Global Water
Award for “The Best Water Project in the World.”
Next Meeting
The next regularly scheduled
meeting is set for 1:30 pm, February 7, 2007.
The meeting was adjourned at 2 pm.
Respectfully submitted,
