Joint Water Commission Cities
Schedule Combined Council Meeting to Discuss Options for Future
Water Supply
The Joint Water Commission (JWC) Cities of Crystal, Golden Valley,
and New Hope will hold a combined city council meeting at 7 pm Wednesday,
June 2, 2004, at the Crystal Community Center, 4800 Douglas Drive,
Crystal, to discuss the JWC’s options for a future water supply.
Each city council will meet separately at a later date to make a

JWC Shares Water Fair Taste Test Results
Residents in the Joint Water Commission (JWC) Cities
of Crystal, Golden Valley, and New Hope were able to compare water
samples from four varied sources at an evening Water Fair held Tuesday,
March 23, at Sandburg Middle School in Golden Valley. The JWC hosted
the Water Fair to provide the community with detailed information
about a future water supply. The blind taste test featured water
samples from Minneapolis (which supplies the JWC water), Plymouth,
Eden Prairie, and Glenwood-Inglewood. [Read

(on three different days, in three different locations) to discuss
choosing a future water supply for the JWC Cities of Crystal, Golden

residents to raise questions and concerns about the water supply

Joint Water Commission To Conduct Aquifer Testing
The Joint Water Commission (JWC) will conduct aquifer
testing of the Prairie du Chien-Jordan aquifer in the last half
of September, 2003. This testing is being performed as part of
the JWC's study on the potential construction of a new
water supply and treatment system. The aquifer testing will determine
the ability of the Prairie du Chien-Jordan aquifer to provide
the quantity of water required for the cities in the JWC (about
seven million gallons every day). [Read
