Tastes
Great... And It's Safe
The Joint Water Commission's (JWC) water comes from the Mississippi
River. The quality of the water drawn from the river makes it relatively easy
to treat. It is naturally much softer than ground water (lower in minerals
such as calcium and magnesium), and it is softened even more during treatment
at the Minneapolis Water Works (MWW) treatment plant (read more about the treatment
process at From River to Faucet). The water tastes great and it meets or exceeds
all current state and federal water quality requirements.
With more stringent water quality requirements on the horizon, the MWW is constantly working to improve water quality by upgrading the water treatment system's barriers to pathogens and other harmful bacteria (read more about MWW upgrades at Well, Now What?) |
