The Joint Water Commission's (JWC) water comes from the Mississippi River. The quality of the water drawn from the river makes it relatively easy to treat. It is naturally much softer than ground water (lower in minerals such as calcium and magnesium), and it is softened even more during treatment at the Minneapolis Water Works (MWW) treatment plant (read more about the treatment process at From River to Faucet). The water tastes great and it meets or exceeds all current state and federal water quality requirements.
